STEP 1: ROLL AND BAKE COOKIES
Prepare the cut-out cookies per the instructions on THE RECIPE page using the mitten cookie cutter. Use a straw or a knife to create a hole on the cuff of each mitten before baking.
STEP 2: COVER WITH FONDANT, ADD TEXTURE AND REINDEER
Tint some white fondant blue and set aside. Roll red fondant as thinly as possible and use the mitten cookie cutter to cut shapes for half the cookies. Use a knife to remove the cuff on each fondant piece. Attach to the top of the cookies with water. Use the remaining red to cut out reindeer shapes and set them aside.
Repeat this process using light blue fondant and covering the remaining cookies. Next, use the serrated design wheel to create stitched texture on each mitten. Roll out white fondant and use the mitten cutter again to cut out the shapes. Trim the cuff off with a knife and adhere to each cookie with water. Once again, use a straw or knife to open the hole in the fondant where the baked hole is. Lightly brush the top of the white fondant with water and sprinkle with sanding sugar.
Use the stitiching tool to texture the cut out reindeer and adhere those to the opposite colored mitten with water. Once dry, finish with ribbon.
