Quick and Easy Peppermint Crunch Bark Recipe
Chocolate and crunchy peppermint make for the ultimate holiday treat in this easy to make bark recipe. Great for an addition to a sweets buffet or wrapped as a gift for friends.
Line a half sheet tray with parchment paper and set aside.
Place the dark chocolate candy coating and white candy coating in two large microwave safe bowls. Heat the dark chocolate on half power and stir every 30 seconds until the coating is almost completely melted. Remove from the microwave and stir until completely melted. Use a spatula to spread the coating on the half sheet tray about 1/4" thick or so. (The coating will fill about 2/3 of the tray). Let the tray sit until the coating becomes firm to the touch.
Repeat the melting process with the white coating. Once melted, stir in 1/2 tsp. Creme de Menthe flavoring. Spread the white coating directly on top of the dark chocolate coating and immediately sprinkle with crushed peppermint candy. Place the tray in the fridge for 10 minutes, or until the bark is very firm and break or cut into pieces. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
