1) Bake your cupcakes in the red foil liner and let cool. Place them in the fridge for 1/2 hour or so to chill and firm up so that handling them will be easier.
2) Pile high with icing and form the icing into a rounded shape using a spatula (I actually used a small ice cream scoop to pile on the icing so that the shape was already rounded). Place them in the fridge until the icing is very firm.
3) Place the white sanding sugar in a bowl. Dip the top of each cupcake in the sanding sugar and roll them around until covered. Place the black pearls for buttons and the snowman heads to finish.
