How To Make Ugly Sweater Doggie Cookies
A little fondant and a few sprinkles transform ordinary gingerbread cookies into kid friendly Christmas canines. These Ugly Sweater Doggie Cookies are a great chance to mix and match sprinkles to make your own sweater patterns and to easily personalize your treats! Trust us, they'll be the hit of your Christmas cookie tin.
They start with our Gingerbread Cookie Dough Recipe and our Chocolate Cookie Dough Recipe. The cookies can be baked ahead and stored in a snap lid container so that you don't have to bake and decorate on the same day. That way, you can pull out your cookies and get to work.

ONE DAY OR MORE AHEAD:
On a surface lightly coated with powdered sugar, roll out a handful of fondant very thinly. Use a cookie cutter to cut out a dog shape.
Use your craft knife to trim the fondant into a sweater shape and discard the extra pieces.
Brush the back of the fondant piece with a very light coating of water and adhere to the top of the cookie.
Use the opposite color fondant to roll a collar or cuff and adhere with a little coating of water.
Use the back of your craft knife to make indentations on the collar, making sure to avoid cutting too deep.
Use small dots of piping gel to adhere the sprinkles and voila!...you've got some doggies in ugly sweaters!
