Spooky SpiderWeb Cupcake How-To
When we created this project for Country Living Magazine, they asked that we design halloween cupcakes that were quick and easy. A few tweaks later and we ended up with these cutey spiderweb treats. Store bought ingredients and fun to make with kids...it doesn't get any easier that this!
Download the template for the webs here: spiderweb template.
Place the template on a half sheet tray or cookie sheet and place a sheet of stencil film on top. Place some of the white candy coating in a disposable bag and heat in the microwave, on half power, for 30 seconds. Remove the bag and squeeze it to help melt the coating and continue the same process until melted.
Snip the end of the bag and pipe the spiderwebs onto the stencil film, using the template as a guide. Place the webs in the fridge for 5 minutes while you do the next step.
Place the tub of chocolate fudge frosting in a bowl and microwave for 10-15 seconds (the frosting melts very quickly). Stir and heat for a few more seconds if necessary until you have a thick liquid consistency.
Dip the same amount of cupcakes as you have finished webs and set aside for a few seconds to dry.
Remove the spiderwebs from the fridge and gently lift them from the stencil film using a spatula and transfer them to the cupcakes. Repeat with remaining cupcakes. Drop each cupcake into an orange baking cup for presentation if desired.
