Ingredients

  • ¾ cup slightly softened butter
  • 12 oz. softened cream cheese
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1.5 pounds or 6 cups powdered sugar
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

Instructions

  • Mix soft cream cheese, vanilla, and slightly softened butter in a bowl. Blend for 3 minutes with a mixer, scraping down the sides.
  • Add 1.5 pounds of powdered sugar (or 6 cups) and cocoa powder. Whisk and pour into the bowl.
  • Start the mixer at low, then crank up for 30-45 seconds for fluffy frosting. Use a dish towel to prevent sugar from flying.
  • Taste-test your cream cheese chocolate icing for flavor and consistency. Finally, let it chill in the fridge for a couple of hours before using.

Notes

Sift your cocoa powder and powdered sugar before piping to keep clumps of sugar away.
